Day 21 — {FMF} — start
“Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lam. 3:22,23
I love the promise that God’s mercies are anew every day. I don’t know about you but this gives me permission to re-start again with Him every day.
And especially on those dark days when I’m walking through a valley, this promise comforts me like no other. In Christ, I can begin anew each day. Yesterday’s mistakes and failures are yesterday’s. I don’t have to bring them into today.
Without this promise, I think I may have despaired and given up on my sanctification a long time ago. But every time I fall down (which is daily), I remember that His compassions fail not. And over the years, I have seen His great faithfulness at work in my life.
In the darkest moments of my life, I’ve been carried in His mercy and compassion. A bruised reed He will not break.
So when I wake up in the morning and sit with my cup of coffee, I remember that I can begin again today. Today is a new day and I can walk as His child, as His daughter — loved and forgiven.
How about you, friend — do you need to hit the re-start button in any area of your life? It’s never too late with God. Believe His promise — His mercies for your are new every morning.
